Welcome
A Newcomer’s Perspective by Sean Coady
I remember that Sunday morning when, as a recent arrival to York I first ventured to Mass at Divine Saviour. I remember those Sunday mornings, all those Sunday mornings which jell to form a person’s experience with Divine Saviour Catholic Church, the Church as shared experience, the Church as community.
Coming to Divine Saviour for the first time, the understated beauty of the structure impresses the newcomer. This is especially so when taken in comparison with the churches “up north”. How different from the massive granite blocks piled high upon one another, is the muted brick church.
